Allen's spokesman said: 'It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby.
'The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made.'
This is the second tragic attempt Lily, 25, has made to start a family. In December 2007, she fell pregnant with her then boyfriend Ed Simmonds of the Chemical Brothers but lost the baby a month into the pregnancy.
Lily had been anticipating the birth of her child with her 31 year-old decorator boyfriend, Sam Cooper, and recently revealed in an interview that she was expecting a boy.
She told Stylist Magazine: 'It goes without saying that we are both absolutely delighted.' The couple had also hinted at getting married soon.
Lily was due to perform at Elton John’s charity ball over the weekend but told press she had pulled out due to a 'viral infection'.
