Strict dad Will Young

Will Young thinks he will be a 'strict' father.

The Come On singer - who is openly gay - loves children but can't tolerate them being unruly around him.

He said: 'I hate noisy kids. I'd be quite a strict dad I think. If we were noisy we were told to shut up. I love kids, don't love screaming kids. If my nephew and niece start screaming, it's bad. Their screams go straight through you.'

The 32-year-old pop star also admitted he would love to raise a family of his own, but not in the near future.

He recently bought a new puppy and he thinks it will be good practice for him for when he does eventually have a baby.

He said: 'Yeah, I do still want kids - I think when I'm in my 40s. At the moment, having the puppy is good practice.'

However, Will admits the house training of his new puppy - a three-month-old border terrier named Esme - isn't going well.

He said: 'Training her is going really badly. She's still chewing my cashmere and she pooed behind the Christmas tree.

'I was on tour and I just thought, 'Right, that's it, I'm going to get a dog.' I moved house so that was probably the catalyst. It's got a big garden so she can run around. If I didn't have that, I'd be more reluctant because I'd have to go to the park. I love it though, I bring her to work and everyone just calms down, it's brilliant.'
