Sara Cox

Bolton-born and bred, Sara Cox began her TV career in 1996 with the seminal Channel 4 'girl power' programme, The Girlie Show. Like most of her ladette ilk, Coxy, as she became known, then went on to present The Big Breakfast from her dad's caravan in The Big Breakfast garden.

Following in the footsteps of her friend Zoe Ball, Cox presented the Radio 1 breakfast show from 2000 to 2004 during which time she earned the station its highest ever breakfast listening figures and almost lost her job after saying the Queen Mother 'probably smelt of wee'.

After a failed marriage to DJ Jon Carter, Sara married advertising exec Ben Cyzer. She currently presents a Sunday morning show on Radio 1.
