Setting things up
 

When you first switch on your TellyTablet, it might take a minute to turn on. When it does, you’ll see the Welcome screen, which will show you how to:

  • Connect to WiFi
  • Copy Google accounts onto your TellyTablet
  • Sign into your Google account
  • Add other email accounts
  • Protect your TellyTablet
  • Copy content from another device or tablet

Go to Settings > Accounts and tap your Google account. Tap the three dots in the top right corner and select Sync Now. You’ll be able to choose all the content you want to sync.

Go to Settings > Accounts and tap your Google account. Tap the three dots in the top right corner then choose Remove Account.

Go to Settings > Users > Add user or profile to set up a new profile. 

Open the Play Store and tap the option for My apps & games, and select Update All to install any necessary system and app updates.


General operation
 

Just go to Settings > About Tablet. Here you’ll see which version of Android you’re using. 

To see how much storage is being used and which files are taking up the most room go to Settings > Storage.

If apps are hogging a lot of space, you can uninstall any you don’t use by pressing and holding the app icon, dragging it up to Uninstall, releasing it and then tapping OK.

To view the pictures and videos taken with the front camera, open the main menu then tap the Gallery icon.

Want to view the pictures you’ve imported from a microSD card? They’ll be kept in the Location folder.

Note: You can easily change the default location that pictures are stored. If you want to save the pictures you take to an SD card, simply open the camera and go to Settings. Tap Save to and switch Device to SD Card.

Just tap the main menu icon then select Email. 

Go to Settings > Accounts > Add Accounts and choose either Exchange or Personal (IMAP). If you’re adding an account like Hotmail, Outlook or Gmail, choose Personal (IMAP).

Type in your email address and password. Then, on both the Incoming server settings and Outgoing server settings screens, select SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates) in the Security Type field.

Finally, change the Account options to suit you. 

Simply hold down the Power and Volume Down buttons at the same time for two seconds. Screenshots are stored in the Gallery app.

Just download and install an app from the Play Store, like Hangouts or Skype. Then simply tap the app and choose the video option to make a call. Your front facing camera will spring into action.

Tap the square icon near the bottom of the home screen to see all the apps you have open. You can swipe up or down to see all your open apps, and choose the one you want.

Go to Settings > Sound & Notification to change notification sounds, ringtones and volume. You can also switch touch sounds on and off.

Go to Settings > Apps. From the list, select the app you’d like to delete the cache or browsing data from. Tap Storage and then select Clear Data or Clear Cache.

If you have multiple user profiles set up on your TellyTablet, you will need to switch to the Primary User mode in order to install any available updates. When a software update is available, a notification will appear in the status bar.

You can also check for new updates manually by going to Settings > System > About tablet, then tapping Additional system updates. If there’s an update available, tap Download and then Install.

Go to Settings > About tablet > Wireless updates.

Go to Settings > Security and choose your preferred unlocking method: Swipe, Pattern, PIN or Password

Go to Settings > Security > Lock Screen Message and type in the details you’d like to appear e.g. ‘My TellyTablet’.

 

Tap and hold anywhere on the home screen to bring up the Wallpaper/Widgets menu. From there you’ll be able to choose a new wallpaper and any widgets you would like to appear on your home screen. 

From the home screen, just swipe down from the top.

From the home screen, swipe down from the top – you’ll see the date and time. Swipe down again for the screen brightness slider.

Go to Settings > Display > Sleep and choose when you’d like your screen to automatically switch off.


Connecting your TellyTablet 
 

Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > WiFi then simply choose the WiFi network you’d like to join and enter the password when prompted. The WiFi symbol will appear as soon as you’re connected. 

Hold down the power button to bring up the power menu, select the second option to enable airplane mode.

The small WiFi icon will be replaced with the Airplane Mode icon in the top right of the screen. Repeat this process to turn Airplane Mode off.

Make sure your TellyTablet is connected to the same WiFi network as your Smart TV, set-top box, or streaming dongle.

If you’re using the pre-loaded Virgin TV Anywhere app and have a TiVo® box at home too, you can browse what’s on your Virgin TV using your TellyTablet, then flick it up onto your main screen, like magic.

To stream whatever else in on your TellyTablet screen to your TV, go to Settings > Display > Cast Screen then tap your TV or dongle when it appears. You may need to enter a PIN code in some instances. 

Tap Settings > Storage > then select either the SD card folder or the USB folder.

Yes, you can use a keyboard or mouse to make it easier to work on things like emails, documents and presentations – just plug them into the USB port or connect with Bluetooth. 


Security Settings & Backup
 

To control who sees what, go to Settings > Users > Add User or Profile.

Tap Restricted Profile and then tap <COG ICON> next to the new profile to change the settings. You can change its name and decide which apps can be used on it. 

Open the app and tap the Menu icon. Go to Settings > Parental Controls and switch them on. You can set up a secure PIN and set an age restriction based on the type of content you want to allow.

For even more control, you can go to Play Store > Settings > Require authentication for purchases and set authentication for all purchases through the Play Store on your TellyTablet.

Go to google.com/android/devicemanager and log in with the Gmail account that’s linked to your TellyTablet. Choose Lock and create a new passcode from there.

Go to Settings > Backup & Reset. If you’d like to back up and reset your TellyTablet, choose Auto Backup for Apps. To see all of the apps that are already backed up, choose Manage Backup.

To completely wipe your TellyTablet and return it to its factory settings, go to Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Tablet. You won’t be able to undo this, so make sure you’ve backed up anything you want to keep!


Bluetooth

Go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap the little toggle in the top right corner. Make sure your speakers are in pairing mode and find them on the list of available devices on your TellyTablet.

On your TellyTablet, go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap the toggle in the top right corner. Make sure the other device has Bluetooth switched on and is in pairing mode. On the list of available devices on your TellyTablet, choose the device you’d like to connect to.


App installation
 

Search for an app in the Play Store and tap Install. When it’s done, you’ll see a shortcut appear on your home screen.

Go to your list of apps, tap and hold the one you’d like to uninstall and drag it to the bin icon. 

Open the Play Store and tap the menu icon. Go to Settings > Auto-update apps and choose whether you want your apps to update automatically or not.


Troubleshooting 
 

Your TellyTablet might need to be reset. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds and it should boot up.

If your TellyTablet isn’t turning on, it may simply be out of battery. Charge it with the charger that came in the box. If that doesn’t work, the charger might be broken and need replacing. Get in touch with us at the top of this page for information. 

If the screen isn’t responding as normal, you might need to restart your TellyTablet. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, leave it for at least 15 seconds then press the Power button to turn it back on.

You can improve your TellyTablet’s battery life by closing apps that you aren’t using, and turning off Bluetooth and WiFi when they don’t need to be on.

Letting the battery completely run down and then fully recharging may also increase its longevity.                  

Please retain your packaging for 14 days in case of return.

Please retain your proof of purchase for Warranty claims.

Premium channels (add-ons): 30 days’ notice required to remove premium channels/packs. Sky Sports SD subscription required to take Sky Sports channels in HD.  Sky Cinema Premiere +1 not available in HD.

Sky Sports HD channels: Sky Sports HD channels £7 per month when subscribing to Sky Sports SD channels.

TV channels: Channel line-ups are subject to regional variations. TV packs currently exclude some teletext services. ITV HD is subject to regional variation. ITV HD is not available where STV HD or UTV HD is available. 

HD: HD TV sets, V HD Box, TiVo box or Virgin TV V6 connected with HDMI cables required for HD channels. Number of inclusive HD channels depends on package.

4K: 4K/UHD compatible.Requires 4K compatible TV/device. 4K content not currently available on Virgin TV channels. Some platforms like Netflix and YouTube offer 4K, which can be viewed on your TV if you have a Virgin TV V6 box.

Sky Cinema movie downloads: Available via the Sky Cinema app only to customers with Virgin TV, broadband and telephone, with Full House TV. Max two downloads per item of content. Virgin Media Store: Separate terms and conditions apply to the Virgin Media Store service. DVD included for movie purchases only. Purchases must be made on the website or set top box. Box to box streaming:  Powerline may be required to connect TiVo boxes to home network, subject to your household electrics supporting the required network speed.

TiVo/V6: The monthly TiVo/V6 charge is £5 per TiVo box (on top of your Player TV, Mix TV, Fun TV or Full House TV package’). Content available to view depends on your TV package. TiVo box remains property of Virgin Media.
