Tom joined Virgin Media as Chief Executive Officer in June 2013 having spent the previous two decades working for News Corporation in a variety of senior roles across the world. He started his career as a newspaper journalist in his native New Zealand, then in Australia, before becoming an adviser and spokesperson for the Federal Treasurer, the Honourable Paul Keating. In 1991, he joined News Corporation’s newspaper business and went on to hold executive positions at Foxtel in Australia, Star Group in Asia, Independent Newspapers in New Zealand, Sky New Zealand, Sky Italia and News Corporation’s television operations across Europe. In July 2011, he was appointed Chief Executive of what was then News International in the UK. Tom has served as Deputy Chairman of both BSkyB and Sky Deutschland.
Paul became Chief Operating Officer in 2015, and before this he was Virgin Media’s Chief Customer, Technology, and Networks Officer. He was previously Managing Director of Access & Networks of Virgin Media, Inc., Managing Director for the access division, and Director of Customer Services & Operations for the business division.
Between 2004 and 2006 Paul was the Chief Technical Officer at Cable & Wireless UK. Prior to this he was at MCI as Vice President EMEA Network & Service Delivery, having previously worked with MCI in the USA as Vice President of Internet Operations & Planning, and as Vice President of Global Data Network Management. Paul spent 15 years at the start of his career in various roles at British Telecoms plc.
Maurice has been Chief People Officer since 2013. He joined Virgin Media in 2008 as Supply Chain Director, later becoming Executive Director of Access where he was responsible for field operations. Before this he worked with Unipart Group Ltd where, for 8 years, he was Managing Director of Technology Logistics Business Unit - dealing with the physical supply chains for Vodafone, Apple, HP, BSkyB, and others.
Earlier in his career Maurice worked in FMCG manufacturing and logistics for Cadbury, British American Tobacco, and Unilever.
Before joining Virgin Media in 2013 as Chief Financial Officer, Robert was Managing Director of UPC Netherlands from 2011. He spent just over a decade with UPC, serving as Managing Director of UPC Ireland from 2006 till 2010. Before this, he was CFO of UPC Broadband, the cable television and triple play division of Liberty Global across Europe. Robert has been Director of UPC Polska LLC since June 2000.
Before joining Liberty Global, he was Group Controller of Impress Packaging Group and, from 1988, he worked for a decade with Price Waterhouse.
Rob has been Chief Information, Network & Technology Officer since 2015, and before this was Executive Director of Engineering & Supply Chain. Between 2006 and 2009 he was the Vice President of Network, Data Centres and Global Operations at BP International, and Vice President of Network Engineering at Cable & Wireless.
He has held senior roles with Schlumberger in the USA and Hong Kong Telecom in Hong Kong and Macau. In his early career he worked with STC Submarine Systems and Cable & Wireless Europe.
Before joining Virgin Media Ireland as CEO in 2015, Tony spent a decade at Telefonica where he was Chief Commercial Officer of Telefonica Deutschland from 2013, and CEO of O2 Ireland from 2011.
Before this he was Consumer Director of Telefonica O2 Czech Republic, and worked for almost a decade at AOL Europe where he was latterly Vice President of UK Customer Care and Managing Director of AOL Europe Operations ltd. Tony has over 20 years’ senior level experience in the ICT industry, and has a MSc in Human Resource Management from Leicester University.
Mine was appointed General Counsel at Virgin Media in 2014. Prior to her appointment at Virgin Media, she was at Scripps Networks Interactive as Senior Vice President of Commercial and Legal Affairs, International where she led the legal, regulatory and government affairs team, and was also responsible for commercial negotiations.
Mine spent around 14 years at Discovery Communications in a number of senior roles. These resulted in her appointment as Senior Vice President and Chief International Counsel leading the international legal department, and subsequently regulatory and government affairs. Before this, she held senior positions at Turner Broadcasting Systems Europe Ltd, and United International Pictures. In her early career, Mine worked in private practice at Clifford Chance LLP.
Since 2013 Peter has been Managing Director of Virgin Media Business. Before this he was Enterprise Director at Vodafone UK for 5 years and oversaw the acquisition of Cable and Wireless, as well as driving fixed telecoms, mobile, and IT services to all sectors; small and medium businesses, multi-national enterprises, and public sector.
He was President of Enterprise EMEA at Nortel for 17 years where he was responsible for a $1bn enterprise business across 30 countries. Prior to this he spent a number of years at the start of his career at GEC Plessey Telecommunications.
Gregor is Managing Director, Virgin Media Consumer. He has nearly 15 years’ experience in senior Financial Director and Operational Management roles at Virgin Media and Telewest.
Before moving into the UK ICT sector, Gregor was Financial Director and Director of Financial Control & Strategy at Compass Group (FTSE 30), as well as Chief Financial Officer of a Dubai based AIM-listed telecoms business. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen.
Brigitte joined Virgin Media in February 2014 as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. She is responsible for public policy, regulatory and government affairs, communications, charity, sustainability and corporate hospitality. Before this she had run the corporate communications departments of three of the UK’s biggest public companies – ICAP plc, Lloyds Banking Group and ITV. Between leaving ITV and joining Lloyds Banking Group she founded a strategic communications consultancy whose retained clients included Thomson Reuters, The New York Times, Clear Channel International and Oxford University’s Centre for Business Taxation.
Previously she was global head of communications and chief spokesperson for Dow Jones, publishers of The Wall Street Journal, based in London and then New York. She is on the advisory board of Blurb Inc., a profitable online book publishing company based in San Francisco.
