Email & mailboxes
While you can use the username supplied to you by Virgin Media as your Email address (i.e. username@blueyonder.co.uk/username@ntlworld.com/username@virgin.net), this is not a very easy address to remember for you or your friends. With this in mind, it is a good idea to use our system to create a more memorable email address for your account.
Click on one of the links below to find out how:
What is an alias?
An email alias is the part of your Virgin Media email address before the '@blueyonder.co.uk/@ntlworld.com/@virgin.net'.
As an example, if your email address was uncle-rob@blueyonder.co.uk, then the email alias for that address would be uncle-rob.

- Log into Selfcare.
- From within the mailbox area, click on the plus sign and then click the option called Change password for this mailbox.

- Choose a new password and type it into the box provided. Your new password should be between 6-10 characters long, using only letters and numbers or a mixture of the two (eg. n3wyork). Follow the on screen instructions.
