The recent invention of batteries that can charge in a matter of seconds means that the time is nearing when a dead phone will never cause us strife again.
But each advance raises the question: what else would we like science to explain?

When you're a sniffling, coughing mess there's nothing more infuriating than being told that there's no cure.
Yet this is the response we get from scientists whenever we catch a cold. Surely the people who invented the artificial heart can apply their genius to this? A cure for the common cold is clearly nothing to be sneezed at.
