A retro science kit has been named the top "smart toy" of 2007.
The Electro Mag set reinvents the tradition of 1920s science kits, according to Science Museum judges.
It contains magnets and steel balls that allow children to build battery-powered electronic circuits.
"Electro Mag reminds me of those great science kits from the 1920s, and it is certainly a reinvention of that tradition."
Helen Peavitt
The kit beat other competition entries to be named the Science Museum's smart toy 2007.
It helps teach children about electronics, magnetics and circuits.
Shortlisted toys were tested and assessed by a group of 35 children before being put to the judging panel.
Science Museum curator of consumer technology Helen Peavitt said: "Electro Mag reminds me of those great science kits from the 1920s, and it is certainly a reinvention of that tradition."
The kit is suitable for children aged eight upwards and retails for around £29.99.
