1. Antarctic ice fish
This ice fish has no red blood pigments (haemoglobine) and no red blood cells and is adaptated to low temperature. It's blood becomes more fluid, and as a consequence the animals saves energy to pump blood through its body. The brittle stars shown here are overgrown by a yellow sponge.
