Saved by the Bell was one of our favourite shows growing up. It was a staple of after-school telly. But we can’t help but wonder… Where are our Saved by the Bell stars today?
In most schools poor old Screech would get beaten up, but in Bayside he was best friends with Zack, who kept him safe. Always getting in to scrapes, he had a long held crush on the beautiful Lisa Turtle. It was unrequited.
Diamond hit the reality show trail featuring in the USA's Celebrity Fit Club among others. He's worked as a stand-up, and ended up with lots of debts, nearly losing his house. Screech really hasn’t had it easy, has he?
Kelly was the epitome of the all-American gal. A squeaky clean cheerleader who was pursued by Zack Morris, she was kind and sweet and actually ended up marrying Zack in a ceremony in Las Vegas. We never saw that coming!
Tiffani was cast in Beverly Hills 90210 where she remained for five seasons. She then appeared in popular US sitcom Two Guys and a Girl, and the Woody Allen movie Hollywood Ending. She's been married twice and has removed the 'Amber' from her name.
Zack was the central character in Saved by the Bell – and the one who looked the most like a 90’s kid. Handsome but scheming, he was often the cause of some of the gang's best misadventures. He spent most of his time pining after Kelly. As did we!
Mark-Paul appeared in the movie Dead Man on Campus and went on to hold down several TV roles, including Detective John Clark in NYPD Blue. He also starred opposite Geena Davis in Commander In Chief. He's been married for over ten years and has two kids.
The Lisa Simpson of Saved by the Bell, Jessie was class president and class warrior too, supporting every imaginable cause from women's rights to the environment. She was also addicted to caffeine pills in one memorable episode.
Berkley wanted to throw off the high school tag after Saved by the Bell, appearing in many low-budget flicks and TV shows, including a famous stint in Showgirls, where she seemed to have developed an allergy to clothes. We wonder what A.C. Slater would have to say about that?
Lark played Lisa Turtle, who came from a rich family and had the designer clothes to prove it. Bayside's resident fashionista was also a bit of a gossip, and was relentlessly pursued by the hapless Screech.
Lark appeared in several TV soaps, including The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of our Lives. A talented musician, Lark has also released an album. Who knew our Lisa Turtle was so talented?
Ever wondered what the A.C stood for? Albert Clifford. Not quite as cool! Despite this little niggle, A.C. Slater was Bayside's top jock, a talented athlete and a rival to Zack Morris for Kelly's affections. Zack and A.C. soon became good pals after A.C. developed a relationship with Jessie.
After a series of straight to DVD movies, Mario appeared in The Bold and the Beautiful and Nip/Tuck. He raised his profile considerably in 2006 by coming second on Dancing with the Stars (the USA's Strictly Come Dancing). He's since developed a career TV presenting.
"Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?" This was the catchphrase of Principal Belding. Most of his time in charge of Bayside was spent getting scammed and tricked by Zack and the gang. It was lucky for Zack and co that Belding was such a nice guy!
Haskins said he was typecast by Saved by the Bell, even going so far as growing a moustache and putting on weight to distance himself from Belding. It didn't work, and he's had few major roles since. Hopefully we’ll see our favourite high school principal back on our screens soon!
Leah played Stacey who appeared in a few episodes during the Malibu Sands period. Stacey was the daughter of the owner of the resort where Zack and the others were working. She and Zack ended up kissing one evening. Saucy.
Leah landed a part in the successful sit-com The King of Queens. Since then she's appeared on web based series In the Motherhood. She married fellow King of Queens actor Angelo Pagan and has one child.
