When the UK's cowardly government reneges on the country's vote to leave the EU, all hell breaks loose and Westminster is overthrown. Two rival factions form to battle for the fate of the country: the rabid Leavers, led by a mysterious shrivelled figure known only as 'Gover', engage in war with a bunch of freedom fighters called Remaniacs, led by the charismatic rebel called 'The Corbynator'. Mike Banning, who was too busy killing terrorists to vote, has to foster peace between the two sides, while rescuing the American President who has got himself kidnapped again somehow. Loosely based on real events.
Nakatomi Has Fallen
Crossover alert! Mike Banning accepts a job as a security guard at a Los Angeles skyscraper, unaware that he's just been posted at Nakatomi Plaza, the scene of Hans Gruber's foiled terrorist takeover, which has been once again been targeted by copycat criminals, looking to score where Gruber failed. Trapped in the building, Banning requests some help from his old police force buddy: JOHN MCCLANE. The two team up to navigate Nakatomi and to take down the terrorists for old time's sake. "How can the same stuff happen to the same guy nine times?" wonders aloud McClane, who looks and acts like his heart isn't really in it any more. The post-credits scene reveals that during the hostage drama, the US President has been kidnapped again.
Honolulu Has Fallen
Bruised and battered after a lifetime of punching terrorists in the throat, Banning takes a sunny vacation to Hawaii, the island paradise. It's rather uneventful: there are no terrorist situations to defuse and no villains plotting nefarious deeds in the nearby area - the biggest confrontation comes when Banning haggles with a man over the price of a glass-bottomed boat ride. The movie is panned by critics and fans, whose claims that the movie was basically an excuse for a lavish holiday for the cast and crew are denied by a mysteriously sun-tanned Gerard Butler, still wearing a lei.
Space Station Alpha Has Fallen
After the poor reception of the last movie, the studio pledges to go all in for the next sequel, which they claim will be the most outrageous and offensive yet. SPACE STATION ALPHA HAS FALLEN (the capitals are mandatory to emphasise the extremeness) sees a reluctant Banning called out of retirement to rescue the US President, who has been kidnapped and is being held hostage on a space station orbiting the Earth. The movie features tenuous cameos from the likes of Channing Tatum, Rihanna and Shrek, climaxes with a zero-G jetpack laser battle sequence and ends with a teaser that suggests Banning will join the next Fast & Furious movie. It grosses ten billion dollars.
Banning Has Fallen
The much-publicised final chapter of the Fallen saga sees Banning himself become the villain. In an unlikely twist that is not at all supposed by actions or events in any of the previous movies, Mike Banning is revealed to be behind all of the terrorist attacks in his past, somehow, and was pulling the strings all along, somehow. When Banning kidnaps the US President - for REAL this time - it looks like all is lost... until Mike's younger, more athletic son Olympus arrives on the scene to foil his father and perhaps to continue the franchise in a teen-friendly 12A reboot now Gerard Butler's contact is up.
