E3 used to be the greatest show on earth, as far as video games fans were concerned.
Every publisher and developer from around the world used to descend on L.A. to show off their latest games in a dizzying three days of marketing budget excess.
This year though all the companies decided that actually they didn't want to spend all that money - so they delayed it by two months and everything took part in a few pokey hotel rooms instead.
Despite the drastic downsizing there were still a lot of impressive new game demos and trailers on show.
Many big name titles such as Grand Theft Auto IV and Resident Evil 5 only got the briefest of new updates but for many forthcoming new games, particularly those due out this year, there was yet more evidence that 2007 stands to have the best new line-up ever seen.
