To set up a Virgin Media email address on Microsoft Exchange:
- Open Microsoft Exchange either by double-clicking on the desktop icon, or by clicking on the Start button, selecting All Programs, then selecting Microsoft Exchange.
- In Microsoft Exchange, click on Tools, then click on Options. The following screen displays:

- In the Services tab, make sure that Internet Mail is highlighted, and then click on the Properties button. The following screen displays:

- Enter your name in the Full name text box. This is the name that the recipient of any emails you send will see in their From field. Most people choose to use their full name (for example Richard Branson) for this purpose, however you can choose anything you like. This does not have to be the same as your email name.
- Type your email address into the E-mail address text box. This will be in one of the following formats:
your.name@ntlworld.com, or
your.name@blueyonder.co.uk.
For example, if you created an alias of Richard Branson, then type in Richard.Branson @... - At the Internet Mail server text box, type in either:
pop.ntlworld.com if your email address ends in @ntlworld.com, or
pop3.blueyonder.co.uk if your email address ends in @blueyonder.co.uk - At the Account name and Password prompts, type in your email address and password.
- Click on Apply to save these changes.
- Click on Advanced Options. The following screen displays:

- At the Forward all outbound mail to the following server text box, type in either:
smtp.ntlworld.com if your email address ends in @ntlworld.com, or
smtp.blueyonder.co.uk if your email address ends in @blueyonder.co.uk - Click on OK to return to the Internet Mail screen.
- Click on the Connection tab. The following screen displays:

- Select one of the displayed options depending on your connection type.
Select Connect using the network, if you have a dial-up connection.
Select Connect using the modem to be shown a list of the Virgin Media locations. Select the one that is local to you and click OK.
This way, when you send or receive mail, a connection screen will come up automatically. - Click on OK to exit this screen, then OK again to exit the Internet Mail Properties screen.
That's it! Your email address is set up, and ready for use in Microsoft Exchange.
