Outlook Express supports importing and exporting the following types of address books:
Export:
- Windows Address Book.
- Microsoft Exchange Personal Address Book.
- Text File (comma Separated Values).
Import:
- Windows Address Book.
- Eudora Pro or Light Address Book (v3.0 and earlier).
- LDIF - LDAP Data Interchange Format.
- Microsoft Exchange Personal Address Book.
- Microsoft Internet Mail for Windows 3.1 Address Book.
- Netscape Address Book (v2 or v3).
- Netscape Communicator Address Book (v4).
- Text File (comma Separated Values).
If Outlook Express does not directly support the format used by your particular program, you may be able to find a common format. For example, Outlook 2000 will import and export a comma separated text file and so will Outlook Express.
You can use the Outlook Express format Text File (comma Separated Values) in this example as a file format that is common to both programs. This format is a plain text file, such as a Notepad file, that contains your address data using commas as a separator between data fields.
