Why do I need PCguard Parental Control?

  • Screens out offensive material
  • Blocks over 550 million links all managed by Virgin Media
  • Allows you to control programs like Chat and Instant Messenger
  • It's easy and flexible with over-rides

Using PCguard Parental Control

When your child surfs the Internet, you may want to restrict certain programs from connecting to the Internet. For example, you can restrict chat room and instant messaging programs such as MSN Messenger, and games. You can use this feature in conjunction with the Scheduler within PCguard for added flexibility. For example during homework hours, you might want to grant your child Internet privileges but to restrict access to chat rooms or instant messaging.

PCguard Parental Control is a content filtering service that blocks more than 550 million questionable websites. This listing of sites is constantly being updated to ensure that it captures all the inappropriate sites which are continuously being added to the Internet.

This service is not a substitute for parental supervision, but helps parents to control the type of content that is available to their child on the Internet. If your child attempts to enter a website that is deemed to have inappropriate content, a message appears saying that the site is restricted. Sites that are blocked while surfing the Internet can be viewed in the log. When you no longer need the list of blocked sites, you can clear the log.
