Battered sweet and sour pork
There's no doubting that as a nation we're pretty keen on the occasional takeaway. In fact, it's said that Brits eat over 2 billion takeaways every year.
Although we tend to think of curries, kebabs and sweet and sour as a naughty treat, if you know what you're asking for, a takeaway needn't be fattening. We've picked out the ten dishes to ditch… and ten to devour.
Ditch: Battered sweet and sour pork with egg-fried rice. An average serving contains a massive 1330 calories (over half an adult's daily intake!) Not only that but it has anything up to 60g of fat and 5.1g of salt.
Devour: Chicken chop suey with boiled rice. There's still 700 calories but fat is down to a far more reasonable 19g and salt to 4.5g. Pick veggie versions for even bigger calorie savings.
