Botox at the knock down price of under £70 has arrived in the form of a DIY kit for sale on the internet, along with facial ‘fillers’, unlicensed ‘fat-melting’ jabs and prohibited skin-lightening creams from anonymous sellers.
Experts warn of the dangers: a shot of the poison in the wrong place can result in pain, swelling, a droopy face, permanent numbness and an uncanny resemblance to Joan Rivers. The verdict? DIY Botox is putting the botch back into botulism.
