What: The most common types of mite to be encountered in the home environment are likely to be spider mites, house dust mites and flour mites.
Why are they bad: The dust mite is known to cause allergic reactions, asthma, rhinitis, conjunctivitis and dermatitis.
How: Anything between 100,000 and 10 million mites may be living in a typical mattress. These little creatures, invisible to the naked eye, are everywhere.
What to do: For this reason complete eradication is impossible but the effects can be lowered by regular dusting, vacuuming and cleaning.
