Putting the pieces together
LEGO was founded in 1932 and was the brainchild of Ole Kirk Christiansen. The company became a family-run business when it was passed from father to son. It’s now owned by the grandchild of the founder - Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. The name LEGO is an abbreviation of “leg godt”, which is Danish for “play well”. Or it could also be interpreted as "I put together" and "I assemble" in Latin.
