Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich has denied reports that he spent £29,000 on lunch for himself and five friends.
Restaurant owner Nello Balan showed the press a bill that he claimed came from Abramovich's table, featuring a feast of truffles, veal, and of course oodles of Cristal champagne.
A waiter at the restaurant also bragged that Abramovich left a whopping £4,468 tip. However Abramovich's spokesman soon burst the publicity bubble, insisting, "That bill does not belong to [Abramovich and his friends]. They spent a fraction of that amount."
