Dancing is an acceptable form of protest

We get why 80s guilty pleasure Footloose was remade, but what we don't quite understand is why the concept - a small-town in American bans dancing after a fatal car crash after a social event - wasn't updated. There's no crackdown on booze, or curfew applied - it's the rhythmic pumping of the limbs that's to blame, and we won't hear another word! Naturally, teens being teens, telling them not to do something just makes them want to do it more, so before you know it, everyone in the town is dancing to express themselves. Dance like no one's watching! We certainly won't be.
