With its soft social commentary, Maya Angelou poems and road trip which inevitably leads to personal discovery, Poetic Justice was a softer outing for Boyz N the Hood director John Singleton. It's easy to see why Janet Jackson put her acting debut in his hands but unfortunately he was unable to turn the youngest Jackson into a good actress. The same goes for Nutty Professor II: The Klumps.
