He's an actor beyond compare as well as a lauded celebrity, noted philanthropist (probably) and beloved TV personality. What's more, it's his 60th birthday. Isn't it high time we re-evaluate the cinematic oeuvre of David Hasselhoff?

The sight of The Hoff in tight red shorts and surrounded by synthetic hooters once again provides more than a simple nostalgia kick for Baywatch fans. His commanding voice and piercing gaze ensure his presence instantly elevates Piranha 3DD from being a trashy sequel to a postmodern musing on the perils a lifeguard must face in the 21st Century. One mournful look at the sea from this underrated actor is truly heartbreaking to behold.
