Synopsis

Hedwig (John Cameron Mitchell) is a transsexual rocker who has had her fair share of bad luck and has now fallen to stalking rock star Tommy Gnosis (Michael Pitt). Hedwig and Tommy first met in the early 1990s, when he was a 17-year-old nobody, and they quickly embarked upon a passionate love affair; but Tommy's difficulties with Hedwig's body soon got the better of him, he ran away with a batch of her songs and made it big in the world of rock.
