Synopsis

Richard Gere and Diane Lane star in this erotic thriller from director Adrian Lyne. On a trip into Manhattan during a thunderstorm, spoilt housewife, Connie (Lane) is unable to get a cab home and bumps into a handsome Frenchman, Paul (Olivier Martinez), who invites her to his apartment to bandage the cut knee she has.

Connie cannot get Paul out of her mind and on another trip into Manhattan contacts him and the pair begin a very passionate and obsessive affair. However, Connie's husband Edward (Gere) becomes suspicious of his wife's behaviour and hires a private detective who confirms the worst; but when Edward confronts Paul things don't go according to plan.
