Synopsis:
This atmospheric film noir thriller about a murderer on the loose in Manchester was made by a group of 14 to 18-year-old refugees. Capturing the menacing feeling of being watched, The News follows victims to their fate after reading, what appears to be, the regular daily newspaper.
Whilst most of the group were competent English speakers those who required translation support were assisted by their fellow participants, which fostered a sense of teamwork and impacted on the decision to make the film non-verbal.
TV presenter Alex Zane, film critic Mark Kermode and MP Gordon Brown are just a few who support the work of First Light Movies.
