The myth: During The Wizard Of Oz, a depressed munchkin takes his own life on camera.
The truth: According to myth, a black-clad actor playing a munchkin, upset that a female munchkin had rejected him, hangs himself in the forest as Dorothy, The Scarecrow and The Tin Man walk down the yellow brick road. In truth it's a large bird, spreading its wings. No munchkin actors had even arrived on set yet.
