Julianne Hough's 'Rock of Ages' costumes were ''gross''.
The dancer-turned-actress stars in the forthcoming movie musical and had a particularly fun time finding the perfect 80s outfits for her character Sherrie.
She said: ''We're not making fun of the 80s but we're living it up with the choreography and the music, and the humour is out of this world. When we were in wardrobe and testing I'd be like, 'Oh this is gross. It's perfect!' ''
Julianne thinks 'Rock of Ages' - which sees her character, a small town girl who moves to Los Angeles to be an actress only to get swept up in the strip-club scene with rocker Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) - is a good story of ''redemption''.
She added to Glamour magazine: ''There's a big struggling point in the movie where Sherrie has to make a choice and ends up going down the wrong road. But then she makes her way back.
''It's a story of redemption and also of chasing your dreams.''
Julianne had to learn to pole dance for the movie and she was surprised by how difficult it was but she plans to do more in the future.
She said: ''It's really hard and the strength needed is incredible. When I was practicing, my arms were ripped - I'd never had that much definition before.
''One of my friends tried it too and she loved it, so we're going to take stripper classes together.''
