Zach Galifianakis grateful for funny film roles

Zach Galifianakis

Zach Galifianakis doesn't think women would find him as funny if it wasn't for his comical movie roles.

The actor and stand-up comedian soared to fame after starring in 'The Hangover' - winning the Best Comedic Performance MTV Movie Award for his role of Alan - but doesn't agree with the theory that women think the most attractive trait in a man is humour.

He said: ''You have to be in the movies for that to happen. Women love a funny guy as a friend. But nobody likes a funny guy in bed.

''It doesn't work to say, 'Remember that dinner party? I was hilarious, right? Let's go to bed together.' ''

Zach, 42, is starring alongside 'Elf' actor Will Ferrell in upcoming comedy 'The Campaign', where the pair play rival politicians. Will starred in Zach's Funny Or Die 'Between Two Ferns' production last year which saw Zach eating out of Will's hand while they discussed their work.

When asked by ShortList magazine what the most difficult scene of 'The Campaign' was, Zach replied: ''Oh, God. There was one scene where I was dressed up as a cheerleader, wearing a live python round my neck, and thinking the whole time, 'This isn't going to end up in the movie.' ''

And luckily for him it didn't, as he revealed the snake ''peed and took a crap'' on him while filming.

'The Campaign' will be in cinemas from September 28.
