Mike Martingano (Channing Tatum) is a jack of all trades. He's working in construction when he meets 'The Kid' (Alex Pettyfer) who he takes under his wing and introduces to his night time job at a male strip club. 'The Kid' starts working as a stripper alongside Mike and the rest of the team which is headed up by the vibrant character 'Dallas' (Matthew McConaughey). They put on a great show night after night and 'The Kid' learns the highs and lows of a party life style. Mike is sleeping with lots of women including real party girl Joanna (Olivia Munn). Meanwhile Paige - 'The Kids' sister is trying to keep him in line and puts her trust in Mike to look after her younger brother. As her brother slips away from her, Mike becomes closer and the two begin an unlikely romance as Mike realises that the party lifestyle and girls like Joanna aren't for him anymore.
