Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson is the youngest child of the Jackson family and first appeared on stage at the age of seven before starting her acting career with the television show The Jacksons. At the age of 16 she signed her first record deal and. although she was criticised for her poor vocal range. she went on to be a very successful recording artist with ten studio albums. The RIAA have cited Jackson as the eleventh best selling female artist in the States, and she has sold over 100 million records worldwide. Similar to her brother Michael, Janet's look has gone through various changes and, like several of her siblings, she found her parents controlling and overbearing. As a result she rebelled against them and eloped with R'n'B singer James DeBarge, only to have the marriage annulled shortly after. During a half time show at the Superbowl, Jackson and singer Justin Timberlake caused controversy when a "wardrobe malfunction" left one of her breasts exposed to the millions of viewers watching live. This did not slow her down, and her next album was another great success
