U2 sail under the flag of ‘The Biggest Band In The World’, and in terms of Grammy Awards, album sales and pyrotechnic-heavy stadium shows, they might have a claim. In terms of genuine musical innovation, however, their career has produced precious little worth shouting about. Echo guitar? Meh.
