The New York, new wave superstars got so annoyed with the music press suggesting that their band was Debbie Harry and some session musicians that they printed T-shirts and made badges with the slogan: "Blondie is a group". When this didn't seem to alter people's perceptions, they announced they were going to change their name to Adolf Hitler's Dog. Their record company told them in no uncertain terms that no matter how many number ones they'd scored, they would be dropped if this happened and the plan was quietly shelved after a couple of months.
