Ever since the Christmas No.1 became a shoe-in for the latest X Factor winner, it really has been a festive-free event. Even when Cowell was prevented from hitting the top spot by a ferocious Facebook campaign, we were treated to Rage Against The Machine’s fun anthem Killing In The Name. So, we urge you to make Christmas No.1 festive again! In the meantime, here’s some more festive-free chart toppers…

So, take an over wrought ballad by a hard rock act (Biffy Clyro) and turn it into an even more over wrought ballad by a painter and decorator. Hardly festive, is it.
