Girls Aloud interview

VM: What can we expect from your tour later this year? How will it be different from the last one? (Hassan, Scotland)

Cheryl: Bigger and better, we've got more budget this time.

VM: Would you like to do a tour on the same scale across Europe? (DJ, Milton Keynes) We've had emails from all over Europe begging for you to visit...

Kimberley: Yeah we'd love to, when there's enough demand for it. At the moment our fanbase is really in the UK, but it would be great to go to other countries, so hopefully one day.

VM: Nadine, are you really going out with the gardener from Desperate Housewives [Jesse Metcalf]? (Becky)

Nadine: No! We're just friends.

VM: Nadine sings the lead part on 7 out of Chemistry's 13 tracks - does this make her the lead singer in the group? (Anon)

Nadine: I think people have been listening a bit too closely! I don't think it's like that, we all have a part to play. Er... c'mon, help me out guys!

Kimberley: Nadine's just got the strongest voice, really. There's a place for each person in each song according to their vocal strengths - so for example Sarah will do the high part, Nadine will sing the lead...

Nicola: But I sang solo on It's Magic just because I wrote that song.

VM: Will you be singing the solos on tour? (Jack, Nottinghamshire)

Nicola: No.

Cheryl: There are so many songs to fit in, from three albums, that it's hard to choose - there isn't space for the solos unfortunately.

VM: What's the nastiest thing you've ever read about yourselves in the papers? (Petra, Germany)

Cheryl: We really don't care about it, we just ignore that stuff. I'm immune to it now. Here in the UK the press just like to build people up, put them on a pedestal, and then tear them down, it's just the way it goes. I really don't give a s*** now, though.

VM: What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever sent you? (Holly, Wolverhampton)

Nicola: Our record label normally filter out the really weird stuff so we just get the nice things!

Kimberley: Nadine got this huge cookie once.

Nadine: Oh yeah, an enormous Millie's cookie with banoffee around the edges, it was gorgeous.

Kimberley: I got a little ring with a pair of lips on once, that was very sweet, I still wear it sometimes.

VM: What's your favourite record from the last year? (Angeline, Ireland)

Sarah: Amerie - One Thing. In a club I mean, to dance to, it's great.

Nicola: That song annoys me!

Sarah: Oh and The Killers.

Kimberley: The Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha, I think.

Nadine: Arctic Monkeys - I like When The Sun Goes Down.

VM: Have you ever considered solo careers, and are you planning to split up soon? (Princess)

Cheryl: No, we're not splitting up! Why do people say that?

Sarah: What do you think the fans would do if we split up? It couldn't be as bad as when Take That split!

VM: Go into therapy for post-traumatic stress probably. And on that bombshell - goodbye ladies, thank you for talking to us today.

Girls Aloud: Goodbye!
