Paris Hilton has spoofed the US presidential race with a tongue-in-cheek video ad announcing that she's now "running for president".
Recorded in response to Republican candidate John McCain's recent television advert, in which he compared Barack Obama to lightweight celebrities like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, the spoof sees Hilton declaring: "I want America to know that I'm, like, totally ready to lead."
The ad takes pot-shots at the 71 year-old McCain, calling him "the oldest celebrity in the world, like super-old; old enough to remember when dancing was a sin and beer was served in a bucket". Hilton then proceeds to outline her "energy policy" - a hybrid of McCain and Obama's proposals - before explaining that she has her eye on popstar Rihanna to be Vice President and plans to paint the White House pink.
