The Vaccines feel album pressure

The Vaccines' Justin Young

The Vaccines feel more pressure making their third album.

The 'No Hope' hitmakers are writing new material and will be going for a different sound on the follow-up to this year's 'Coming Of Age'.

Frontman Justin Young said: ''I feel more pressure on this record, it feels like it's our second record, it's our second phase because we never really stopped before.

''Album one and album two just felt like one big record, in terms of a difficult second record, it's the third one for us.

''Inevitably [we will be going for a different sound] because if you want to push yourself as an artist or even as an entertainer you don't wanna be repeating yourself.

''The kind of music we've played up until this point isn't something you can keep doing because: A. Once you reach a certain age and B. Once you've been doing it for a certain number of years with integrity.''

However, the group insist they won't rush into recording a new album as they feel they will ''benefit'' from taking their time.

Justin said: ''We've got stuff we're already excited about but I don't think we do really want to plan it [the next album].

''We did that on the first two records, the second one we planned to record it before we'd even finished writing it, which I think was a mistake.

''We want to benefit from a bit of time and live a little and make it when we're ready to. That may well be in the not too distant future.''

Drummer Pete Robertson added: ''We're looking forward to taking our time with it a bit more, we were a bit afraid of making mistakes the last few records.''
