You've got to hand it to Sir Cliff – no sooner does it pour down during a Wimbledon Centre Court match in 1996 than he leads the crowd in a singalong – ably assisted by tennis champs Virginia Wade, Martina Navratilova, Pam Shriver, Gigi Fernandez and Conchita Martinez. It may have been done with the approval of his PR manager, but it was a defining musical image of the summer in a year when Oasis were the biggest band in the world. Not bad for a pop star pushing 60.
