We kick off our top ten of pop's most embarrassing moments with grunge-rock legends Nirvana. Famously anarchic and with a fondness for trashing instruments, things went awry for bassist Krist Novoselic (left) during a performance at the 1992 VMAs. Having tossed his instrument high into the air, he missed his catch - with his forehead copping the full impact. Novoselic crumpled to the floor but eventually tried to stumble offstage, only for a sympathetic Kurt Cobain to boot him in the arse.
