Electronic music pioneer Richard D James is one of the most revered and influential figures to emerge from the scene, as well as one of the most wilfully odd. Notorious for teasing the press with porkies, he's a man who claims to write music whilst lucidly dreaming, lives in a converted bank vault, allegedly owns both a tank and a Russian submarine and has written some of the most brilliantly creepy music known to man, using vintage and home-made synths, samples, prepared pianos and drum machines.
