The Dresden Dolls
This US duo, whose name is partly inspired by the firebombing of Dresden during World War Two, describe their sound as "Brechtian punk cabaret". Dressed like spooky circus mimes, the pair fuse elements of the vaudeville and the burlesque into a creepy, raucous stage show which encourages the participation of their cult fanbase.
