Lightning Bolt
They describe themselves as "The most complicated music imaginable played by costumed superheroes with hockey gloves". Everyone else calls them experimental noise rock. How does it work? Drummer Brian Chippendale straps a mic into his mouth (pictured), whilst bassist Brian Gibson thrashes all manner of ear-bleeding chaos out of his instrument with an array of sound-mangling effects pedals and strings tuned like a cello (with a banjo string thrown in for good measure).
