Zeni Geva
If you've made it this far, congratulations - your head should now be jam-packed with enough weirdness to see you through until next year. We leave you with Japanese death metallers Zeni Geva, who describe their sound as "cosmic noise maximal/minimalism" - in other words, a bit of a racket. Some fans have taking to using the term "math rock" to convey the band's fondness for bizarre time signatures (including 13/8), but you're unlikely to need a calculator to understand this pounding mass of metal chaos. Founder member and singer Kazuyuki Kishino (pictured centre), aka KK Null, is a cult figure in the Japanese noise scene.
