The Boston resident's third solo album, Come The Storm is a classy affair, imbued with dark, modern country music and Rose's quite stunning voice which alternates from the soaring to the downright "bassy".
Having been approached by Rob Spragg of Alabama 3 - as had another local female singer with an extraordinary voice, Siobhan Parr - Rose spent a number of years gigging in the UK with the band in one form or another and attracting the attention of industry and ordinary fans alike, while living in what her website describes as "rural Essex".
Citing Kate Bush, Tom Waits, Janis Joplin, Paul Simon and fellow Bostonites Aerosmith as personal favourites, what really comes across on this album is the subtlety of her songwriting and the depth and breadth of her voice, the closest comparison being perhaps Bonnie Raitt.
Bluesy and quite beautiful.
