NME favourites and now Mercury Award nominees, Bloc Party whip up a fair dose of melodrama with this combination of fraught vocals, pounding drums and scattered guitar pluckings. It never quite reaches the climax which it promises, but restraint is part of what makes this single so biting. Not their finest hour to date - we suspect that is yet to come - but a decent enough excursion for the meantime.
