This debut single from D4L has been a huge hit in America, and looks set to chart fairly highly over on these shores too. Why? Because it's another catchy club-primed rap single with a call to "shake your booty" (or "laffy taffy", a type of American sweet), boasting a four note melody and a crew of tag team MCs. Along with Dem Franchize Boyz, D4L claim to have founded a new hip-hop sub-genre called "snap" - essentially a very sparse kind of club production which features finger snapping. Not exactly revolutionary, but no doubt a useful selling tool for the band and their management.
