Daz Sampson - Teenage Life review

After a string of Euroflops from Jemini, James Fox and Javine Hylton, anyone pinning their tattered hopes for Eurovision success on this combination of tacky string samples, dodgy rapping and singing kids is optimistic indeed. That said, Teenage Life at least has novelty on its side and is one of the first UK entries in years to be carping on about something other than love, being a stirring and intellectual critique of our flawed education system with such lyrical insight as "If you treat the kids fine / They won't do the crime / No, no". OK, so it's codswallop, but Daz is our only hope, so grin and bear it.
