Embrace - World At Your Feet review

Faced with the task of producing the official England World Cup song, it seems that Embrace equated the prerequisites of "epic" and "stirring" with U2, deciding that their best bet would be to simply rip them off, echoing guitars and all. The only problem being, of course, that Bono and co have more talent bundled up in their belly button fluff than Danny McNamara and his band of excruciating dullards could ever muster. Which is a roundabout way of saying that this sucks. Despite the band's best efforts at a clarion call refrain ("It's calling, It's calling you now"), it all falls rather flat thanks to Danny's anaemic voice and the complete absence of a memorable sing-along chorus. And if you think this is bad, wait until you hear the Paul Oakenfold remix...
