The godfathers of electroclash disappeared off the face of the planet after their successful single, Emerge, was followed by a disastrously unsuccessful debut LP (rumoured to have brought Ministry Of Sound's musical empire to its knees). Years later, Casey Spooner and Warren Fischer have finally re-emerged (if you'll pardon the pun) with this refreshingly unpretentious and enjoyable single from comeback LP Odyssey. It sounds like they're still using exactly the same synth with which they started - an undulating bassline gradually passing underneath a sweeping filter from dull throb to raspy electro buzz - and yet nothing about this sounds dated or recycled, especially with the nice addition of some space-echoed guitar stabs. Perhaps they were just ahead of their time in the first place.
