Californian duo Annie Hardy and Micah Calabrese are Giant Drag, and if you've picked up their debut LP Hearts & Unicorns (worth the price alone just for its magnificent Wicked Game cover) you'll already appreciate the comparisons with the likes of PJ Harvey, Pixies and The Breeders. If not, This Isn't It is as good a place as any to sample Hardy's scuzzy guitar riffing and bewitching vocals, at once sweetly inviting and cooly disdainful. Her dispassionate, scathing put-down; "Love, love, love / You wouldn't know it if it hit you", is the song's most striking moment, but there's plenty more where this came from.
